Brake & Go Startsystem

The Brake & Go starting system is a John Deere exclusive. This feature simplifies the starting process on all ZTrak™ mowers and also allows two interlock switches to be removed from the machine.

The Brake & Go launch procedure helps an inexperienced driver look and feel like a pro. The parking brake must be applied to start the machine. It does not matter if the PTO switch is on or off, nor does it matter if the control levers are pulled in or out.

As long as the parking brake is applied, the machine will start. When the parking brake is engaged, the control levers cannot be moved to the forward or reverse position.

Adjustable Levers

The motion control levers have two height positions and can also be adjusted forwards or backwards within the slotted holes. The levers should be adjusted so that the operator can comfortably reach the entire control range.

Diagnose

The hour meter displays the number of hours the machine has been in use when the key switch is in the on position. Only the hours that the engine is actually running are counted. Machine diagnostics is the first step in a monitoring system that helps operators quickly diagnose common downtime issues. The hour meter includes an error code light.

Using the hour meter and service interval chart will help determine when the machine needs service.
